About this Location
Butler Works is located in western Pennsylvania, a one-hour drive north of Pittsburgh. The facility produces stainless and electrical carbon steel. Melting takes place in an electric arc furnace (EAF) that feeds an argon-oxygen decarburization unit for specialty steels. A ladle metallurgy furnace feeds two double-strand continuous casters. The buildings housing electrical-and-stainless-steel melting and casting, hot-roll, cold-roll and finishing operations measure 3.5 million square feet.
